Nonissues

There are some behaviors of the client that appear to be code problems, but are not code problems.

  • "You are lacking level 1 or 2 skills" error - This is controlled 100% by the client. No server code can change this. It is caused when the client calculates that you can't possibly have enough SP to put into skills.
  • vana_info isn't the current version - This has nothing to do with the client version. It counts the SQL files and this is where the automatic DB maintenance comes from.
  • Flash Jump disconnects me on .70+ - This is a 100% client issue. The way Flash Jump animations are programmed into the client, it chooses the animation based on your job and not by the skill you're using. This means that attempting to use Flash Jump for either Flash Jump job when you are not the appropriate job will disconnect users. There is a brittle way to work around this; you can just pretend all jobs are Hermit or higher. However, then you can run into the same problem with other skills.
  • Star/bullet quantities look funny in my shop - The client refuses to behave normally if a rechargeable item is the first item it sees in the shop.
  • I can use skills in Dark Sight - The Cygnus skill Vanish introduced the ability to use skills in Dark Sight. You have points in this skill.
  • Mystic Door's name label doesn't update properly when creating parties - This is a client issue with the way it's programmed. This problem still exists in GMS 1.50. As far as I'm aware, there's nothing that can be done by the server to fix this bug.
