This page describes how to set up a proxy.

The purpose of setting a proxy is to let your browser or other applications know the existence of XX-Net, so that they can access the Internet scientifically through XX-Net. Contents of this page:

Use tray right-click menu settings

Right-click on the tray icon, tray right-click menu will pop up, providing common functions, including setting proxy. Tray right-click menu

  • Global proxy through GAE_proxy: After clicking, set the system global proxy to URL 127.0.0.1 port 8087, and all supported programs access the Internet through XX-Net by default, via the GAE server proxy. The domestic website speed is relatively slow. You may not be able to access the Internet normally after closing XX-Net.
  • Global PAC Smart Proxy: It is usually recommended to check this option when Install Proxy Switch Plugin]. Click to set the system global proxy as the proxy automatic switching script http://127.0.0.1:8086/proxy.pac. After setting, all supported programs will access the Internet through XX-Net by default, and the script of XX-Net will automatically judge, domestic websites will be directly connected, and blocked websites will go through a proxy.
  • Cancel Global Proxy: Cancel all global proxy settings. All programs connect directly to the Internet by default.

Windows system

Proxy settings for Windows systems are located at: Control Panel - Network and Internet - Internet Options - Connections - LAN Settings (Broadband dial-up users: Control Panel - Network and Internet - Internet Options - Connections - Select the dial-up connection used - click the "Settings" button below it)

  • If you want to set a global PAC smart proxy, check "Use automatic configuration script" and fill in http://127.0.0.1:8086/proxy.pac
  • If you want to set a global proxy, check "Use a proxy server for your LAN", fill in 127.0.0.1 for the address, and 8087 for the port. And check "Bypass proxy server for local addresses".

OS X system

If prompted: "Please check the browser proxy settings." Click the 'X' icon in the upper right corner: Select Enable Auto GAEProxy.

Linux system
