We do not plan to support robots on Jade, however users may desire simulated robots on Jade (especially to get Gazebo 5).

Dependent repositories still to be released into Jade:

Fixes to fetch_gazebo:

  • update package.xml depends for gazebo 5
  • one section of bellows and the estop are showing as white?

Possible improvements:

  • use new friction models to improve simulation

Currently there is a jade-devel branch, but we may want to rename that "gazebo5" and then rename master to "gazebo2" as the gazebo version is actually the driving factor rather than the ROS version (for instance, you can use gazebo5 with indigo if you build fetch_gazebo and gazebo_ros from source as well)

The bellows are especially strange -- both links are the same STL, both have 0 0 0 1 for their color in URDF, both have Gazebo/Black as material in the xacro file for Gazebo. One shows as black, the other is white....

Jade is reaching end-of-life, I have rebased the gazebo5 branch from the gazebo2 branch with the single patch, and am going to release fetch_gazebo 0.8 into jade with the remaining "color" issue.
