Who we are
👋 We are R2Devops, a French startup building a DevTool to optimize and secure CI/CD pipelines (logo)
How we use alpine-chrome
We provide a marketplace of open-sources GitLab pipelines templates. It's a collaborative place with +140 resource available.
One of our challenge is to maintain the +90 official templates. These templates contain CI configuration logic and use container images as environment. Basically, a template defines a container image to run and the script to run inside it to automate a task (test, build, lint, deploy, ...). Image are at the earth of those templates. To provide the best templates to the community we need images matching following criteria : light (for performance), maintained, open-source and coming from trusted sources.
To build some of our templates, like lighthouse or marp, we needed an image providing a headless chromium browser. This is where alpine-chrome is awesome for us: we benefit from a light image, open-source and actively maintained by a trusted entity, Zenika 🙌 !
As an open-source platform, it’s awesome to join our forces with Zenika to provide quality resources to the community 🎉 !
