According to the official spelling rules, combinated nouns may either be written together (omitting spaces) or be separated by a dash.
§ 37 Substantive, Adjektive, Verbstämme, Pronomen oder Partikeln können mit Substantiven Zusammensetzungen bilden. Man schreibt sie ebenso wie mehrteilige Substantivierungen zusammen.
§ 45 E1 Aus anderen Sprachen stammende Verbindungen aus Substantiv + Substantiv, die sich im Deutschen grammatisch wie Zusammensetzungen verhalten, werden zusammengeschrieben; ebenso ist die verdeutlichende Schreibung mit Bindestrich möglich: Sexappeal (Sex-Appeal), Sciencefiction (Science-Fiction), Shoppingcenter (Shopping-Center), Desktoppublishing (Desktop-Publishing), Midlifecrisis (Midlife-Crisis)

keep - erhalten oder beibehalten? - erhalten entspricht mehr "bekommen". Die sinngemäße Übersetzung im Kontext mag auch "aufrechterhalten" sein.
