Release fix from #736

I created a clone of the template and immediately ran into an error that has been fixed by #736 two weeks ago.

Can a new release be published and the template updated?

To unblock you now before we get around to releasing, you can use a slightly older version of rust nightly. See #404 (comment) for how to do this. Just pick a date before the issues started.
