apm update - check have access to private packages before uninstalling #179

Hi, The update command will uninstall an old version and then install the newer version. The uninstall is required as it removes all the files (assets etc) associated with the extension to ensure you don't have any old files left over. But looks as though the install failed due to your subscription having expired. Has your subscription expired to the extensions you are using? |
No, my subscriptions are active.

Yep, that would be it. I might have to consider adding a check into the update process that checks you have access before starting the update. Will add this to my list. |

@Shaunmax What version of apm are you using? I thought we had resolved that issue with the deletion when an install failed. apm doesn't really handle your subscriptions as it isn't tied to distriqt's subscription system. It can only can access extensions you currently have access to. As a quick fix I'd suggest you grab your extensions from your other projects if you need to get a build going quickly. |
I dont remember the version, but I can confirm that it was not the latest. I updated it to the latest only after this issue. |

Okay, that would explain a few things then, the older versions definitely had a bug where the project would be deleted if it failed in the last part of the update process. Do you have it in version control so you can restore it easily? |

Did you confirm the project.apm contained the extensions you expected? Try deleting the project lock file and apm_packages directory and just keep your project.apm. Then run |

Yes, I did. Since I updated the AIR sdk, I am now forced to update the anes |

After doing lot's of trial & error testing finally I was able to update the anes using apm. But now the issue is that the app is crashing on iOS. @marchbold in the Console window which process should I check to identify the crash reason ? |

In the Console app you should see your device on the left and then select the process that matches your application name. |
I can confirm that the crash is happening after updating anes .
