Form version does not always update

Context

Reporter by the partnership team: Survey version doesn't update well at all times after you save changes and publish.

Problem or idea

It seems in some cases the form version does not update after making changes to the form. It seems to be happening after making a few changes to the form and the publishing. In order for the publishing to be effective, we need to leave the survey screen and come back.

Solution or next step

We need to investigate if it is possible to make things easier for the user. Would it be possible to be notified of the correct publishing so the UI is updated and user can continue making changes? Shall we prevent changes in the meantime? Shall we show an error message so user knows he needs to reload the page?

I might be mistaken but this sounds like a code & design if not code only issue; in my (ltd) understanding, the Flow platform is quite does not allow us to do auto-saving or continuous validation of user action (in which case, we can pause further action until the user saves or waits for the system publishing to be completed), but I could be wrong.. Nonetheless, it would require to see whats feasible technically with the framework to determine the best course of action from a design point of view 🤨
