GRTensor III

Oct 1, 2018: GRIII is now compatible with Maple 2018. Fix in version 2.2

  • fix Issue 30
  • fix Issue 31
  • fix Issue 29

Previous Version

Version 2.1.3, April 10, 2017

  • fix Issue 16
  • fix Issue 15

Version 2.1.2, released April 9, 2017

  • fix issue with unassigned nsign object in junction calculations
  • add help for spacetime()
  • convert all junction worksheet examples to use spacetime (no junction metrics required)

Version 2.1.1, released April 2, 2017. Version 2.1 introduces new functionality: spacetime()

  • allows definition of a spacetime with a line-element or metric component parameters as part of the command
  • no longer need to use a metric file and allows worksheets to be self-contained
  • see the worksheets/intros directory for examples

Added some improvements to the grtransform command and created some examples from Carroll (see worksheets/intros)
Added grload() modification to allow grload() with no arguments to open a file browser

Critical bug fix: grdef (see Issue #13)

Fixes for:

  • Issue #10 grtransform co-ordinates
  • Issue #9 missing help text for grt_objects

The worksheets directory has been re-organized and a few new examples created:

  • intros/kerr_killing_tensor
  • junctions/curzon_wormhole

Release 2.00: Add junction and hypersurface capability

Release 1.00: GRTensorIII is a adaptation of GRTensorII version 1.50 developed in 1994-1999. It is primarily a refactoring of internal data representation with some updates to the ”modern” Maple environment

  • move all variables inside a scoped Maple package
  • include all extension objects from GRII (basic etc.) directly in the main package
  • support Maple worksheet dialog based input
  • remove some seldom used commands (grloaddef, grsavedef, grloadobj, grsaveobj)
  • no changes have been made to the expressions used to define the standard tensor objects
