Unforutnately my resources are extremely limited. Although I like i3 I dont have time to debug this. I have the strong suspicion that this is an issue with the window properties i3 reports sets since mainstream window managers (compiz, mutter and what not) dont have any problems in this way. I'd totally appreciate if you are willing to debug it and file an issue on the relevant trackers (here, qt, i3) depending on the cause, since I see that there is a tech user base which i dont want to neglect. |

Pardon my silence, since I am not a developer I dare not to go into the sourcecode of albert/i3. But meanwhile I developed a workaround.
I cannot acess if this workaround is worthy engough to enter the source of albert. I hope someone of you could do that ;) |

Dear Developers,
Here is something that annoys me, but since your project is just awesome i will not leave it but try to improve by this bug report ;)
Description
Albert does not hide itself on i3 if you focus out via i3 shortcuts, even though the option "Hide on focus out" is active (works if loses focus by clicking somewhere else). Two such shortcuts (i3 commands) are:
bindsym $mod+space focus mode_toggle
)workspace next
Expected behavior
Albert should hide if focus is lost
Steps to reproduce
Additional information (please provide the following information):
Source: installed via AUR: albert-bin
Output of
albert
when started in a terminal (stdout/stderr)---> output does not change if focusing out / in (via super+space)
