I am doing Chapter 7 Exercise of this book, and not sure if I am understanding Question No.3 correctly.

Attached is the solution I gave for this exercise along with my questions.

Could you please help me explain what this question is asking for and help me check if my solution got to the point?

Thank you so very much for helping me with this!

Hello Osvaldo, hope you had great holidays! Can I ask for your comments about my answer to Chapter 7 Q3? And also in exercise, you asked us to generate covariance matrix with linear kernel. So I guess, are there any "rules of thumbs" for kernel type choosing? Any documents I can read and study about applications of different kernels?
