I was wondering if there could be a method of using ALVR to communicate PC to PC. The reasoning for this is that you could have a powerful PC somewhere doing the heavy lifting, then a thin client nearby or on body that receives the compressed video stream over the network and connects to the headset. The flow would be something like this:
ALVR on powerful PC => Transmits over network => ALVR client on thin client/laptop/handheld => display port & usb => PCVR headset
If the client is light enough to carry around with you, it would allow wireless PCVR with no processors actually in the headset (for headsets like the Index, Beyond etc.).
