Support suyu emulator #50
Comments
This is something I am considering. However, I'm waiting for some development on the potential forks before committing to anything. |
I've been helping with Suyu and it's just not ready yet. Just external work like making a website, and reconnecting all the 3rd party library modules Yuzu created has been very challenging. It took days for us to be able to build the emulator |
Totally understand! I can imagine there being a lot of work to do on it. I've seen the Git and the commits being made - so good effort so far! Once there is some significant progress. E.g. under the hood improvements and a public build released. I will consider updating EzYuzu, rebranding it and pointing it towards Suyu. I don't want to be in a position whereby I spend my time rewriting code to make it work for the latest fork, only for that fork to be abandoned and for me to be back in the same position as before. Hence I am happy to wait for further progression. |
thank you, we need an installer. But first we need to stabilize everything first. |
does this work on linux and mac? |
The currently released version of EzYuzu doesn't at the moment. I was part way through rewriting it to support Linux and Mac, but the takedown happened. So development is paused. Once further progress of Suyu has been made, I'll continue the rewrite, enabling Linux and Mac support |
@amakvana hey, I love your tool,I requested you to add CLI for updating and you made it to where I could create a Windows task and it worked flawlessly. I love it so much that it inspired me to make my own little updater tool for xemu as a proof of concept. My skills are rather limited though. Anyhow, onto the reason for my commenting here. I've been talking to one of the SuYu devs and they're trying to find the best way to keep SuYu up-to-date so I suggested them going about it in the same way your perfect little tool then i got the idea that their team would benefit big-time if you were to join their team. If your tool were to be directly baked into the new emu, it would be perfect! Just a suggestion |
I could be open to this. To be fair, getting EzYuzu to work for Suyu wouldn't take too much work to do. I'd want to see a public release made first, with some under-the-hood improvements to show the devs are committed to working on it |
I totally get that, I was thinking of compiling my own and trying to implement your source code into the emu to see if it can even be done, this would be my own private thing, ofc. I don't have the skills or confidence try to join a major dev team, as much as I would like to, I just don't think I could bring what you bring to the table. |
A public beta (0.0.2) is now available in its Gitlab since yesterday. I imagine that they will publish their next public releases there. |
I saw the releases yesterday on their page using the link below: https://gitlab.com/suyu-emu/suyu/ Now when I browse it, it returns a 404 error. Not sure where the repo has gone, along with the 20k+ commits made. Also the Download button on the Suyu Website is broken |
I saw that they are offline due to a DMCA takedown link |
here is the releases page |
Considering the DMCA takedown, etc. I'm going to wait a little for things to calm down and then continue working on switching over to Suyu. I will resume development and the rewrite in the meantime |
With yuzu gone, could this project be migrated to support suyu?
It's still early days so there's potential.
