Hi @aonez ,
I finished the translation into Catalan of Keka «Base.lproj» strings, the «Common» folder language and improved the current translation for the web page but I can't upload the files nor fork the project here on GitHub, since these options are disabled for your project so, attached are the files.

How can I test the translation? I would to create the screenshots to for the Doc/help web page...

Regards,
Benny.

Hi @BennyBeat! And thanks for the translation!

You needed to fork the project and create a pull request, the fork option is not disabled... what message did you get?

About the web, the help section is very outdated. I'm now working on the Wiki here. Here I'm attaching the only strings currently localisable in the website, in case you have any correction: lang_ca.php.zip

To test it the app translation, just add the ca.lproj folder inside Keka.app/Contents/Resources. You should do this on the latest beta of Keka. The Common folder is shared through all the translations, therefore you should only add yourself in the Translators.html.

Already added your files on 50f26fb and fixed an uppercase 6e3155d.
Here a compiled test version: Keka-1.1.0-beta.5r2328-ca.zip. You can use this one for further tests. I've noticed the menu bar has some problems, since it seems not fully translated.

Glad to see a Catalan translation again, long time without it 😊 Visca!

Hi again, @aonez !
The message I'm still getting is “Uploads are disabled — File uploads require push access to this repository”. Since I'm still experimenting issues with GitHub, attached you'll find the “lang_ca.php” file translated into Catalan language, and some files from "ca.lproj" I improved to avoid long texts that doesn't fit right in the interface, after testing the Keka v1.1.0-beta.5r2328.

I also discovered a new window that remain in English Language, asking me moving Keka to Applications folder; not sure if this is the menu you warn me is not fully translated or not (please keep an eye to the attached image), but I'm pretty sure I can translate it.

If I can help you with any other translation, just let me know!
Best regards / Una abraçada,
Benny.

  • Web updated!

I improved to avoid long texts that doesn't fit right in the interface

Just added a new parameter to configure the GUI width, so no problem with long texts. I'll be posting a new beta with this functionality when it is ready.

"_ADVANCED_EXTRA_WIDTH_" = "15.0";
"_PREFERENCES_EXTRA_WIDTH_" = "20.0";

I also discovered a new window that remain in English Language, asking me moving Keka to Applications folder

Strange... This is the alert from LetsMove framework. Strange because I've translated this to Catalan some time ago... But I've replicated it, so will fix it. Thanks! (Just found it was a known bug, updated to the latest version 1.23)

I was referring to this menu, but now I see it translated. Lapsus!

The use of «» instead of quotes, is particular to you or common in Catalan translations?

"Creating %@ file..." = "S'està creant «%@»...";
"Creating file \"%@\"" = "Creació de: «%@»";

The message I'm still getting is “Uploads are disabled — File uploads require push access to this repository”

This happens in your fork? Maybe you're trying to push without an user? I usually use Fork GUI for git, maybe this helps.

By the way, with the new 1.1 version there're new services, which you may translate too:

There're a few Services that you can also translate. Inside each service Resources folder are the lproj.

I understand why you changed "Mètode" to "Compressió", and in fact I think this must be changed to "Level" instead of "Method", so you can use "Nivell" or what you think it's more appropriate to mean "compression level".

I'll change that on all languages, since on future versions I may implement the actual "compression method", that has nothing to do with the current "compression level". Thanks for making me see that!

On advanced:

/* Class = "NSMenuItem"; title = "Compressió"; ObjectID = "957"; */
"957.title" = "Compressió";

/* Class = "NSMenu"; title = "Compressió"; ObjectID = "958"; */
"958.title" = "Compressió";

On Localizable

"Method: No compression" = "Mètode: Sense compressió";
"Method: Fastest, less compression" = "Mètode: Molt ràpida, poca compressió";
"Method: Fast, less compression" = "Mètode: Ràpida, compressió menor";
"Method: Normal" = "Mètode: Normal";
"Method: Slow, more compression" = "Mètode: Lenta, compressió màxima";
"Method: Slowest, more compression" = "Molt lenta, compressió ultra";

The use of «» instead of quotes, is particular to you or common in Catalan translations?

I'm using the recommended Catalan guideline by Launchpad and other translation sites. Here is an example:
https://translations.launchpad.net/openshot/2.0/+pots/openshot/ca/+translate

As you can see, the mentioned guideline is a link to the Softcatalà Catalan guideline, where you can find the right use for the quotation in Catalan language:
https://www.softcatala.org/guia-estil-de-softcatala/convencions-de-format/
So, Yes; «» are the default quotation in Catalan language. You can also read more about the hierarchy of the quotation (« “ ‘ ’ ” ») use on Wikipedia or the Universitat of Barcelona.

I usually use Fork GUI for git, maybe this helps.

I'll try the Git-Fork program you recommend; hope my issue will disappear!

By the way, with the new 1.1 version there're new services, which you may translate too:

D*mn, I forgot to verify that folder. OK, don't worry; I'll translate ASAP!
Benny.

Just added the services translations myself on 67f69d5

Feel free to improve them, if you think it's needed. Thanks a lot @BennyBeat!
