File upload stops after 10GB

Hi.
I am pushing 8000 files into a local couchDB. About 50GB in total. I use PHP and php on couch to create the documents in the db and curl to push the files onto the documents as an attachment. alway after 10GB, the upload just stops.
I do not know why. I use a single curl for a single file in a loop. 1s sleep after 100 files and garbage collection did not help.

any ideas?
