Is there any way for this to work with github pages? I was hoping to test a few things out and be able to use this to make a mini forums website

I am not sure. I wonder if PocketMine (if shoghi comes back) will use this. I mean, this could be brill with more people contributing. It might save A LOT of money as I know XF is quite pricey

@archie426 definitely not. There are [no offence, @applqpak] some much more developed forum software out there in the world that are much less pricey. Examples: VanillaForums, PhpBB...
If anything, they will switch to those

I've never heard of those. Still, XF is the current leading one (if priceyist). It could still be quite good with more people contributing (not that I can talk but I am making progress in my fork that will be eventually pulled back.

that sucks, they should add support for file writing

They should, and they might, but they probably won't do it for free. You might need to upgrade to a paid plan/education plan on order to get features like that

@remotevase is right, so far out of all the free forum softwares I've tested VanillaForums is one of the best tho

@remotevase this is what I think you shouldn't pay to make a site i know that you can get good prices from namecheap and other hosting services but it is possible to make a fourms software for github pages just that it would be hard to do and it won't be as easy as 123.
Edit* there is http://ost.io/ but you have to do some coding

@juantaco (Off topic but oh well) You are very right. Why should you have to pay for hosting. If companies respond with 'How are we going to make a profit' well it can just be nationalized. But sorry for going off-topic.

@archie426 also, XF is a pay once thing. So now that PocketMine already has that for the forums they're not likely to change it. The donations etc. pay for the hosting and stuff.

@TheDragonRing I thougt you had to pay yearly
