After recording VS Code and then the video is saved, I can't view the video at all; I just get that error.

What operating system are you running this on? There shouldn't be anything server related.

As a simple follow up, are you able to run a few debugging commands:
npx @arcsine/win-info and npx @arcsine/screen-recorder test.mp4? The output from these commands should help pinpoint where the issue is.

My OS is Windows 10, the specific build is Home Edition x64-Bit, and the specific version is 21H2. I managed to solve the issue by killing off the process of Windows Media Player in Task Manager. I've decided to just reinstall Xbox Game Bar and use that as a screen capture instead. But thanks for replying back and trying to help debug my problem anyways.

Faced the same issue. Windows media player & Movies Windows App are unable to play the video although, it plays fine in VLC.
