Describe the bug
Using the NewVersion function in the Masterminds semver lib means that branches like 20221209-update-renovatejson-v4 will match (see Masterminds/semver#193).

To Reproduce

  1. Use semver strategy on an image.
  2. Push a tag for v1.10.0 to its registry and allow to update.
  3. Push a tag called 20221209-update-renovatejson-v4 to its registry.
  4. Tag will update to 20221209-update-renovatejson-v4

Expected behavior
It stays on v1.10.0.
