Raw images not appearing in Photos #57
Comments
This app only makes files have previews. It is up to the individual apps to make use of that metadata. In the webdav response there is a tag called nc:has-previews which is supposed to be handled. |
Okay, right; there's a bunch of people who refer to the 'Gallery' (saying that it worked with your plugin), but I only see "Files", "Photos", etc. So... I still want my CR2's to appear in Photos, but they just don't. Do you know how that can be fixed? Who is responsible for that compatibility? Is it a thing that can be implemented from your plugin, or from the Photos app? Or is there some protocol between the 2 missing? |
The photos app should make use of the webdav tag for previews instead of just whitelisting certain mimetypes. |
I'm not sure that's what I'd want personally; otherwise you'll end up with PDF's and all sorts of junk in your photos just because it has a preview. |
nextcloud/photos#530 <- this appears to be requested at the other end too |
Closing this as this is handled in other app |
I install this plugin, and it is working; when I click a raw image, it shows a preview as written on the tin.
However, I see lots of comments saying "great, this even works in the gallery!", which is exactly what I want, but that is not working for me. If I add new jpeg's they appear in the gallery, if I add a CR2, it does not appear in the gallery, and I can only see it via the filesystem.
This is tested against a brand new instance of nextcloud, most recent release.
Have I missed something? I wasn't able to find any means for configuration of this plugin.
Thanks.
