ppimport deprecated in scipy, but still used in pywafo

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. call "import wafo"

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Ideally there should be no output. Access to the wafo library is the expected 
outcome. The error message "from scipy.misc.ppimport import ppimport. 
ImportError: No module named ppimport" is given.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
wafo 0.1.2
python 2.7
windows vista
