atom vim-mode seems to leave it at the end.

The redo is mapped as the core redo: 'ctrl-r': 'core:redo'

Actually we also use the core:undo, as I pointed on #421. So the question here really is "should we implement our own undo/redo system"?

I think undo/redo is pretty critical to the Vim editing experience. Undo/redo is also a form of navigation in Vim, and as we all know, navigation is key to the Vim "feel".

I agree, this is pretty important. I have been trying to use vim-mode for a few hours, and this is one of the things that has been bothering me.

As stated in the README, this package is no longer maintained and is deprecated. We recommend that people use the vim-mode-plus package instead. Because of this, we are archiving this repository and closing all issues and pull requests. Thanks very much for your support and contributions!
