Cutting Mode

Cutting Mode allows you to simulate cutting through your block, given your current microtome settings.

Select Enter Cutting Mode to display the controls:

The slider reflects the cutting depth, so a depth of 0 means you are just touching the block face. Note - the units here, are the same as used to define the pixel size of your image (e.g. if you set your pixel size to 0.5x0.5x0.5 micron, then the distance will be in microns).

As you move the slider, the 2D view (in the bigdataviewer window) will show you the simulated cut. The 3D view will show the position of that cut via a large pink plane:
