Patch manager support for Debian 11 #463
Comments
Hi Team, Thanks |
any update on this? The only version of Debian supported are already EOL |
Spoke to someone of the SSM team at re:Invent, support should come soon. Note that's AWS-soon. Could be today, could be 2025 |
Would be very nice to know if Debian has been abandoned or not when it comes to Patch Manager. |
Could someone at AWS please update this with a statement of intent? Supporting Debian 8 (EOL by 3 versions) whilst not supporting 11 (latest stable) seems an awful lot like abandonment. If the community can contribute patches to make this happen, please point us in the right direction. |
Debian 11 is now oldstable, with Debian 12 released. https://www.debian.org/News/2023/20230610 Tagging @rhaoran-aws as the last committer to this repo - could you please advise on how we can get attention on this within AWS? |
The only supported version of Debian has its LTS reaching end of life in 6 months - are you dropping support for Debian with v10? |
This announcement recently went out claiming support for Debian 12 and the prereqs page now lists 11 too. Will be testing in the subsequent weeks to verify but things are looking up. [edit] 01/30/2024 - Our Deb 12 test instance was patched successfully via SSM Patch Mgr. |
Hi,
Thanks for the amazing service, however i am wondering since Debian 11 is the latest stable release, can this be added for patch manager support , currently patch manager only supports till Debian 10
Thanks
Sameer
