I wouldn't exactly call it a project so much as a social schism in the Node community.

Seems those invested in Ayo have either lost interest or returned to mainstream Node.

It might exist in some sense of a lingering community (as mentioned above the Discord is active) however in the technical capacity of this project being a Node.js fork, I would say it's most certainly dead now, if you could consider it to have ever even been alive at all.
