Using StartExplorer with MATE on Fedora 19 #34
Comments
Thanks for sharing! :-) |
Remark: This command set is now provided out of the box and you can select it via Window - Preferences - StartExplorer - Desktop Environment - "Select Desktop Environment". There will be an option Linux/MATE in the next published version (coming soon). However, I guess that is not what you mean by "working out of the box", because currently Linux Mate will not be autodetected. This is how the current window manager is autodetected currently: Basically it checks for each window manager if one (or one of several) characteristical process(es) are running. Could you name such a process for MATE? It should be a process, that is a) unique to MATE With that information, I could also easily add auto-detection support for MATE to make it truely work out of the box. |
You're searching for a process called "gnome-session" for detecting GNOME, right? So you could simply use the MATE equivalent of this process called "mate-session". I think this will fit your needs. |
That's exactly what I need, thx. |
@m-wilde Would be cool if you could test Linux MATE support and give a short feedback if everything works as expected. |
