This is a bit of a crazy one, I've been tinkering around with a Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2. I figured I'd ask here since you are already hooking the executables. If you can hook the variables for when the player ship guns and missiles are firing, as well as the afterburner and can differentiate what each gun/missile type is. Then it should be possible to make custom force feedback effects for each weapon and a rumble effect for the Afterburner... I'd be willing to help with the creation of the effects code/force feedback part. But I don't know howto hook the executable. If you'd be willing to jump on a quick chat with me I'd like to go through how the hooking process works.

I agree this is doable and would be a great feature to add and would welcome some collaboration! Send me an e-mail and let's figure out when we can chat.
Hi, I'm in Australia, usually the best time for communication with the USA
is in the morning Australian time as that's usually the afternoon for the
USA. My handle is DMJC on the wcnews.com discord.
