Date format

Hi,

Is it possible to have a date format to display and then another to grab the date from the datepicker?
Because i'm using the format 'ddd, MMM D' for display reasons but when i get that from the input i have a string and i don't have a date because this can be in many languages, i need to have 'dd/MM/yyyy' format.

Is this possible?
