We think our alerts (especially the success) may be too subtle.

Scratch got 2 confused users this year who didn't realize they submitted successfully, even though they presumably saw the "you were successful" alert at the top of the page.

What do we do @burlexpo @carynaudenried ?

These are what our current alert blobs look like.

Colors of everything are editable with no code change.

Glad to change sizes of anything. Or move it around?

Right now, the alert displays on the working area, at nearly 100% of the width, but only as tall as the text requires (plus padding)

Let me know.

I'll defer to @carynaudenried but I think we should use a h2 or h3 font and put a medium weight border around the alert -- and maybe a drop shadow?

Our h2 & h3 tags include using Limelight - which is cool looking, but not great for alerting, which should be super easy to read.

Here's a few with the font size "large" (18px), and the border widened to 5px. The border colors are quite subtle, which adds to their invisibility.

How's that? It's still smaller than the font of h2... but IMO when I went that big, it looked crazy big and a bit like I had made it for preschoolers.

Other question - do we want act tech info alert to scale similiarly? it's a weird one, as it's on the landing page and not feedback from something the user just did.
