What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Play a video
2. Rotate the device

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
continue playing the video

inorder to prevent the video from restarting on rotation simply add 
android:configChanges="orientation" in the activity tag of manifest file

yes, android:configChanges="orientation" should work.
