Possible uses of NFC:

Accepting payment from an NFC card or tag - this requires online mode so that the POS can send the lnurl-withdraw to a server for handling the payment flow
(Re-) Programming of simple NFC cards / tags

Other things to consider:

Compatibility with NFC card and mobile app implementations for Lightning
