I am making a kernel and I have to use this. I looked at the boot ROM code but nothing seem to write to the EEPROM data section.

It's been a while, and I don't have a test environment to confirm this, but it seems the EEPROM data can be written at 0xEF00.
As far as I'm aware the default boot ROM ignores the section entirely.
