The event integration is described in detail in the BA thesis of Jonas Beyer (German)
Unicorn is a free and open source software developed at the BPT group at Hasso Plattner Institut (HPI). It is based on the complex event processing (CEP) engine Esper. Unicorn offers a RESTful API to register event types, subscribe to event queries, and send events.
