Brave on M1 Mac drains battery by highly utilizing COREAUDIOD at all times #24081

According to lsof | grep -i coreaudiod, Brave is utilizing the coreaudiod service. It keeps consuming 10-20% of the CPU time and drains battery very quickly.

Apparently Chrome and Firefox don't have this problem, although I don't use them due to other reasons.

Have tried all the workarounds scattered on the internet to reduce coreaudiod CPU usage, but the only thing that works is closing Brave. Can you please address this issue?

does this continue if you close all tabs and restart brave? i'm running beta on a first gen m1 mac and do not see this problem.

Any solution to this?

I use brave with sync on mobile, linux, PC, and mac - but this is making it a deal breaker.
