Thank you. I am certainly looking forward to add this feature after going stable with initial release.

Its more than one year. Photo tagging is now an universal feature in all php scripts and actual social sites. Its unfortunate that neither buddypress nor any plugin have this yet. (rtmedia advertises this but the demo is actually too buggy, I tested in latest FF, for use)

Hi,
You are right. The last one year we spent almost all time working on MediaPress enhancements/features. We just released the stable version of MediaPress around January 20th this year. So, we haven't been able to look into it.

We do not consider tagging a core feature of MediaPress. We do plan to provide it as an extension in coming months but it is going to take some time. There are easy ways and extensive ways to go for tagging(specifically related to recognizing objects in the image). We haven't yest decided which way to go. It will certainly come in next few months and will be compatible with all browser including mobiles.

Sorry about delaying it.

I appreciate your hard work. And that fact that it comes free. You can offer tagging as a premium or paid feature. I will suggest you to have a look at Elgg and its media solution Tidypics by IIonly to see how the implement it. Incidentally Tagging is a core and must-have feature for all social scripts and social nets these days. Its the next most popular activity after "Comments".
