WeMo BridgeWemoWARNING[192.168.1.96] connection error: could not find correct port for device. #49

What issue do you have? Please be as thorough and explicit as possible.

This error keeps on showing in the log and it involves in different wemo devices

Details of your setup.

  • Do you use (1) Homebridge UI-X (2) Homebridge CLI or (3) HOOBS?

Hoobs

  • Which version of Homebridge/HOOBS do you have?

4.1.22

  • Which platform do you run Homebridge/HOOBS on (e.g. Raspberry Pi/Windows/HOOBS Box)? Please also mention your version of Node.js/NPM if known.

  • Which version of this plugin (homebridge-wemo) do you have? Has the issue started since upgrading from a previous version?

I apologise this issue got closed before I had a chance to initially respond.

Ignoring the errors that appear in the logs, do the devices respond properly if you control them with hoobs?

Had the same issue. Fixed the problem. The fix was easy. I added a new wi/fi network 2.4ghz with access to the local network (same ip range and default gateway). And all devices are online :)

Homebridge 1.6.0 (running natively on macOS Monterey )
Node.js Version | v18.12.1
homebridge-wemo v5.0.5

Devices are all Wemo Gen1 Sockets (you know the big chunky one)

Additionally and I don't know I this is related but occasionally one of the sockets will automatically switch off (there isn't any automation for that time(s) its happening). As alluded to above, I am sure I didn't have this error until fairly recently. Done the usually troubleshooting (restarting Homebridge, Mac, sockets etc)

Interestingly I downgraded earlier today to: homebridge-wemo v5.0.4 and so far, I have not seen the error message. Will review tomorrow to see if this continues. Best
