When navigating a directory tree, ncdu displays the "number of items here + in subdirectories" under the heading "Items". By pressing C, you can sort by this instead of size.

dua shows the number of items in total (from the directory you call it on). But it doesn't change that number as you navigate, and you can't see this information for subdirectories without exiting and calling dua from the location in question. I think it would be great if we could!

You can now sort by number of items in version v2.22.0.
