Something like a Gtk.LevelBar might work. The idea is to show where in the ideal or unclear ranges their density is.

A bit far fetched, but have you ever thought about a visual representation of UI elements at the selected resolution and DPI? Might be usable when you're able to see a preview in fullscreen.
