Master Nodes

Node vs. Master Node

Every Chaincoin wallet on the network is called a “node”. These nodes relay transaction information between each other, which is what makes Chaincoin transactions so speedy! A master node has additional responsibilities, such as performing the anonymization of coins which is known as “mixing”. These “mixed” coins become completely anonymous, and allow Chaincoin transactions to be conducted in complete privacy.

Additional Information

To create a master node, one must send 1,000 CHC to a wallet which is then used to start the node. The CHC “locked” in master nodes helps to increase the value of the CHC that remains in circulation. A master node which is part of the Chaincoin network is continually rewarded with coins for as long as it remains online. It is possible to transfer the coins out of the wallet at any given time, but this will cause the master node to be removed from the network and cease receiving rewards.
