This page provides guidance for correct terminology in Chef documentation.

backup back up : Use backup for a noun and back up for a verb.

backend : Use backend, not back end or back-end.

bastion host : Use bastion host, not bastion, bastion server, bastion node, bastion workspace, or bastion machine.

Chef Infra Client : Use Chef Infra Client, not client, Client, chef-client, or Chef Client. Use Infra Client in cases where [Chef Infra Client is repeated in a paragraph]({{< relref "product_names#shorten-product-names" >}}).
