fwupdmgr currently fails to run printing on "No Remotes Configured". This is because of an error in the systemd unit.

We debugged this over at fwupd/fwupd#1555

The short story is that either

  1. The systemd unit needs to populate the ConfigurationDirectory field correctly (in the current unit simply commenting it out is enough to get things working)
  2. Clear should use /etc like every other distribution in existence (instead of /usr/share)

This may be related to #1473
