Pinged some intel folks about this... let's hope we hear back.

downgrading your kernel may actually help you. Perhaps an LTS kernel can be of help.

I no longer have Clear Linux installed on my system, so I cannot provide that output. I'm sorry.

Fixed with ln -s iwlwifi-Qu-c0-hr-b0-48.ucode iwlwifi-Qu-b0-hr-b0-50.ucode in lib/firmware

Killer WiFi has REALLY poor support for kernel microcode updates. Please reach out to your hardware vendor and let them know of the issue, so they will choose better HW for their next iteration.

@shtirlic

@thiagomacieira did that, wrote support request to Killer for firmware update to latest kernels.

This the reply I got:
https://support.killernetworking.com/knowledge-base/linux-support/

We neither develop nor support the Linux drivers for our devices, and this is common, as free and open source is the Linux way.

As such, if you encounter an issue with your Killer Networking adapter in Linux, your best, quickest, and most accurate line of support is going to be the community, either for the Linux distribution that you are using, or the driver itself. Our knowledge base contains some limited known information. These are things which we have discovered and posted to hopefully make things easier on our users. However, most problems will be specific to either the driver, the distribution, or even the version of the distribution that you are using.

But there is a page on Intel https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005511/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking.html

With link to firmware and it's all 48 and needed to symlink to 50
https://wireless.wiki.kernel.org/_media/en/users/drivers/iwlwifi/iwlwifi-qu-48.13675109.0.tgz (5.2+)

This table contains only the first official firmware version released, which is only guaranteed to work with the kernel version specified in the table. To get the latest version for newer kernels, use the firmware git tree instead.

What is the correct approach for handling this in future? @miguelinux
