License exemption for github.com/hashicorp/go-retryablehttp #138
Comments
+1 to this request. We have the same need at OpenTelemetry, we want to use several hashicorp dependencies which are MPL-2.0 and would greatly benefit from blanket MPL-2.0 exemption. |
+1, would be useful for Kubernetes as well - kubernetes/steering#210 |
As a followup, the GB decided to not grant a blanket exception to hashi
libs but will approve things on an individual basis.
I expect a vote to happen within a month on this but I'm not worried as the
GB intended to follow the status quo of approving the previous libraries.
So thanks for your patience.

@caniszczyk any update on this? |
more projects were identified that rely on this transitively, see linked issues. can we resurrect this request? |
#568 resolves, this was approved in 2021-07-19 |
github.com/hashicorp/go-retryablehttp is an MPL-2.0 project that is not currently listed as an exemption. We are asking it be added as an exemption so it can be used.
Would it be possible to get either a blanket MPL-2.0 exemption or an exemption for all of the hashicorp MPL-2.0 projects, instead?
