Two users in different groups reported the same problem with the comment function under Buckets on 15/09/2020.
One users reports the following: they have reloaded the page, shortened the text, corrected and reloaded the page. At first the Submit button is red and after one try it no longer responds at all.
Both users confirm that there were no links in the text. I have asked them whether they have tried pasting their text without formatting, and now waiting for a response.
One important element, that would be helpful for me to add to our help materials, is the criteria of what type of text is allowed in comments. Could you let me know what that is?
The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:
I have an update on this one: at the moment, it is not possible to copy paste into the comment field. This was reported by a user, and I can replicate it.
Concretely. what happens when copy pasting, is that when you click "submit", the page sort of freezes, and nothing happens. Then when you reload, the comment is not there.
Another piece of feedback about comments just popped up from a user:
_I tried to add comments to an idea but after I submit them the button shows up disabled, and if I leave the page I cannot find the comment anywhere. I meanwhile tested adding a smaller comment and it showed up nice, so I guess it has to do with the size of the comment. Maybe an error message is missing somewhere? Or maybe show the max number of characters allowed and cut the text when copy pasting?
Also, it is not obvious where the user needs to enter the comment. Maybe have a prompt in the input saying "Write your comment here..." could help ? Or even "Click here to start writing your comment"_
Is there in fact a maximum character limit? Also, the idea to add the text "write your comment here" in the comment box seems like a good suggestion.
"Today I've faced a problem with posting my comment under the project description - https://cobudget.co/#/buckets/3618?tab=buckets
The thing is I inserted the textand pushed the button - Submit. The button got grey and inactive, nothing changed for over 5 minutes. I had to reload the page and there was no comment of mine. I've redone it several times. still, no success("
