This repo is my attempt on formalizing how a terminal should behave when it is to print grapheme clusters and display emoji, including more complex emoji, such as variation selectors, ZWJ emoji, and country flags.
How can an app detect that the terminal does support that behavior? It's meant to be mentioned in this spec.
I am by far not master of Unicode, though, I have implemented all of that above in contour, I may as well see the world not like it should be, from the conformance point of view.
This discussion forum serves as communication hub all around terminal related Unicode topics, especially the above mentioned one.
I hope we'll produce something that is easily adaptable.
