Double Slabs can not be textured separately

I want to have one slab textured with one block and the other half textured with something else, but this doesn't seem to be possible. it seems like it would work for this building design, but it does not seem possible to separate these two texturable parts.

The ability to do that has been added in the multi-state update. You can get the newest version on Modrinth/Curseforge
