OpenVoiceOS is a minimalistic linux OS (created with Buildroot) bringing the open source voice assistant Mycroft A.I. to embbeded, low-spec headless and/or small (touch) screen devices. OpenVoiceOS is the mycroft built by the community, powered by the community and fully open to developers without CLA requirements, We would love to fully support the STT and TTS engines by conqui-ai, and we seek a good collaboration with the project. OpenVoiceOS is not only targeting embedded devices but also larger use cases such as Linux Desktop and Linux Mobile and Linux in general,
My point of this discussion is to get more people in the Linux community wanting a truly and free open source project that can get a whole voice assistant experience running on your current device without having to sign up to services and blocked garden walls interested in Open Voice Assistance on every Linux distribution possible, targeting all hardware.
The OpenVoiceOS project started of as a image of mycroft, ended up being a soft fork with full backwards compatibility, and we are now looking further to integrate with more open voice projects like conqui-ai
