Is there any indication whether the functionality in CWA for handling Rapid PCR Tests (which has been available since version 2.19) will be used in a live function with test facilities or is there no expectation that it will be used in the near future? |
@MikeMcC399 We have not received any new information in this regard. |
Where to find the issue
Describe the issue
"Registration of Rapid PCR Tests" was announced in-app as a new feature of CWA Android 2.19.0 and 2.19.1 although according to @dsarkar in #2541 (comment) it is not in fact live yet.
The Glossary does not differentiate between laboratory and rapid PCR tests. It also says that a rapid test is a rapid antigen test and does not include the possibility of a rapid test being a rapid PCR test.
Suggested change
The information about Rapid PCR Tests needs to be added to the CWA glossary now, whether or not the planned support for Rapid PCR Tests is currently live or not.
Background information
The official website of the Bundesministerium für Gesundheit displays the page Fragen und Antworten zu COVID-19 Tests which lists "Welche Tests gibt es und wofür sind diese Tests geeignet?"
@thomasaugsten confirmed in corona-warn-app/cwa-event-landingpage#42 (comment) that "PoC-NAT-Tests" are the same as "Rapid PCR Tests"
Many testing stations in Germany are already offering rapid PCR tests as can be found via a Google search for "rapid pcr test".
