I have updated Notes this afternoon and I get the following message when I try to open a note:

Browser: Chrome 28, Firefox 22
OS: OSX

It is working again. What I have done (most likely related): started the contacts app (which was installed and stopped).
Now it is working even if I stop the contacts app.
