Change the entry author's name format

In the sidebar for entries in Craft the entry author is currently displayed with their photo and username.

It would be great if we could change the format of this, so we could change the username to display their first and last name instead, for example.

An additional use case for this is when you use the useEmailAsUsername config. Craft overrides the default behavior to use the persons email address instead of their username, which makes managing users extremely hard as you have to identify everyone by their email address in many locations.
