messages vanish when switching to other pane (file explorer <-> rubber duck)

first of all: what a great and funny idea for an extension. awesome work 💖

i noticed that the messages disappear when i switch panes.
for example:

• write with duck
• go to file explorer
• write with duck again

i dont know if it is my design or a bug.
however i think i would be great to see the prior messages and perhaps add settings to automatically clear the messages when switching, button and command for the command palette.

Chat history is now preserved. It was originally by design not to preserve chat history when switching panes. Please note that chat history won't be preserved when Codespace reloads.
